Welcome to the Kilborn Allotment Gardens. The gardens are operated by the City of Ottawa, Department of Recreation, Cultural and Facility Services, and is administered by the staff at Dempsey Community Centre, 895 Russell Rd, Ottawa, ON K1G 1L6, 613-247-4846.

The Allotment Gardens are located on Kilborn Avenue and are bordered by Pleasant Park to the north, Delmar Drive to the west, and Haig Drive to the east. Here is a map. Limited parking is available at the Kilborn and Pleasant Park entrances.

Each garden plot is seasonal. The gardening season runs from May 2 to October 24, 2025. Gardening hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Returning gardeners are provided an opportunity to renew plots prior to them becoming available to the general public. Efforts are made to rent the same plot(s) to returning gardeners, however, the City reserves the right to close plots and may require gardeners to change location. Gardeners are not guaranteed to have their same plot(s) every year.

There are a limited number of tool sheds for rent at the Kilborn and Pleasant Park entrances. Water taps are available on site for gardener convenience.

All registrations must be completed with the same name and plot(s) as the previous season, unless arrangements have been made in writing.

Registration methods

Online payment – contact Jardinkilborngarden@ottawa.ca with your name and plot number(s), we will then provide a link to online payment.

• Please allow time for us to process your registration. There is no risk of you losing your plot.
• Acceptable payment methods: Mastercard or VISA (Debit Visa is not accepted)
• Avoid travelling, payment must be made within 2 days from receiving instructions.
• Using a mobile device is not recommended
• You can contact the Dempsey Community Centre at 613-247-4846 between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM Monday to Friday for assistance.

In-person – In-person at the Dempsey Community Centre, 1895 Russell Rd.

• Accepted methods of payments: debit, Mastercard, VISA or American Express. Cash or cheque if necessary.
• Parking spots are limited.

Payment sent by mail will not be accepted.

If you are not able to register online or you are away, please let us know and we can make alternate arrangements for registration.

If you do not plan to renew your plot, please let us know so we can offer it someone on the waitlist.

If you require Hand in Hand (fee assistance), an additional form will need to be completed and all documentation necessary provided PRIOR to registration.
